MAKE SKINCARE PART OF YOUR SELF-CARE ROUTINE

MAKE SKINCARE PART OF YOUR SELF-CARE ROUTINE

According to Nielsen data, during the first-half of 2020, online sales of skincare products rose 42 percent.  Some companies believe it’s because of all the Zoom meetings and Face-Timing with family members.  That self-facing camera can be extremely unkind, exposing sagging in the jawline and neck.  For many people, skincare has now become a major part of their self-care routine.

Facial cleansers and acne treatments are the most in-demand skincare products in the United States, according to Statista.com.   Constant mask-wearing, handwashing and use of hand sanitizers have created skin problems for a lot of people.  Other issues include: Dermatitis, Rosacea, dark circles, sunburn, dry skin, wrinkles and Hyperpigmentation.  There are tons of products being offered to deal with these conditions.

While people are desperately searching for treatments that work, they are also extremely concerned about the ingredients in their skincare products as well as the mission of any brand they choose to support.

One trend we’re seeing is that of what is called Good Beauty also known as Conscious Beauty. It describes the growth of more responsible consumers that are mindful of the origin of the products that they use. During these unprecedented times consumers awareness increase on how business interact with Local communities, Stakeholders, and Society as a whole. The actions that businesses take during this pandemic are likely to be remembered long after covid-19 has been conquered. This can be related to product packaging eco-friendliness of the product or a company's purpose and value. A trend that won’t end for beauty brand Afterlite Bodycare.

One company here at Local As Can BEE takes that concern very seriously… Afterlite Bodycare.  Their products don’t contain any harmful chemicals and are handmade in the United States. They offer masks, sugar scrubs, face oils, body butter and beautifully-crafted soaps.

Many small businesses are finding it extremely difficult to survive in this pandemic.  That’s one of the main reasons Local As Can BEE has created this Co-Op.  Our mission is to provide a marketplace for their products and to assist them in the creation of new products.  Your support can make all the difference to a small business owner.  Keep that in mind as you shop online.
